General Secretary, President To Lam hosts reception for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet

Prime Minister Hun Manet spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic achievements, expressing his belief that under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam led by General Secretary and President To Lam, Viet Nam will continue to gain greater achievements in its national development course.

Hun Manet expressed his deep appreciation for Viet Nam's great and effective support and assistance for Viet Nam.

The Cambodian Prime Minister also highly valued positive contributions of the ASEAN Future Forum, initiated by Viet Nam in 2023, to the relations between ASEAN and its partners, especially in the current challenging context in the region and the world.

He affirmed that Cambodia attaches importance to advancing and deepening the relations with Viet Nam, saying his country will coordinate closely with Viet Nam in realizing the commitments and agreements between leaders of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Cambodian People's Party.

To Lam congratulated Cambodian on its socio-economic development achievements under the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party hed by President Hun Sen as well as Cambodian Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet.

To Lam underscored the importance of the relations between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Cambodian People's Party and the two countries, as well as the relations among Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia.

He suggested Viet Nam and Cambodia promote the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the meetings among the three Prime Ministers, three Defense Ministers, three Ministers of Public Security, and three Foreign Ministers of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Both sides agreed to organize events to mark the 60^th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027; promote people-to-people exchanges and education of the significance and historical values of Viet Nam-Cambodia relations among young generations of the two countries.

Regarding regional and international situation, the two sides compared notes on issues of shared concern, and agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums, especially ASEAN and the Mekong Subregion.

To Lam underscored the importance of peace and stability for all countries in the region and the world, affirming Viet Nam stands ready to join ASEAN's common efforts to maintain peace, stability, cooperation, development, and to consolidate ASEAN's solidarity and centrality.

To Lam voiced suport for Cambodia to successfully host the 20^th Francophonie summit in November this year.
