The program is part of the VFF Central Committee to respond to the Prime Minister’s initiated emulation movement "For the poor - Leave no one behind" for the 2021-2025 period and a month “For the poor” (from October 17 to November 18).

In his remarks, Prime Minister Pham said Viet Nam is still home to nearly 2.4 million poor and near-poor households, accounting for over 9 percent of the country's population.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected people's lives, especially the poor and disadvantaged groups, he added.

Pham highlighted the need for active engagement of the whole community and support of all sectors as well as international friends and partners to realize the emulation movement.

The Government leader requested ministries, sectors and localities to continue effective implementation of policies on poverty reduction, especially the three national target programs.

He called on organizations, individuals and businesses both inside and outside the country to continue accompanying the country in the process of reducing poverty and ensuring social welfare.
