The French Minister made the statement while meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ha Noi on March 21.
The Prime Minister stated that Viet Nam is prioritizing the development of transport infrastructure as one of its three strategic breakthroughs, focusing on road, rail, aviation, maritime, and inland waterways projects.
The development of transport infrastructure is expected to create new opportunities for growth, drive industrial and urban development, reduce logistics costs, and enhance economic competitiveness, he added.
The host leader praised the strong transport cooperation between the two countries including the construction of the North-South railway and several airports in Viet Nam.
"Airbus remains the largest aircraft supplier for Vietnamese airlines, while railway projects such as the Nhon-Ha Noi Station metro line have demonstrated ongoing collaboration between the two sides," he said.
Pham also reiterated Viet Nam's commitment to addressing institutional hurdles to accelerate project implementation efficiently and effectively. He encouraged further cooperation with France on the basis of sincerity, trust, and mutual benefits.
He suggested the two sides push Airbus on technology transfer, the establishment of aircraft maintenance facilities at Vietnamese airports, and the development of underground, maritime, and aerospace industries.
The Prime Minister also proposed that the two sides expand direct shipping routes between their countries and enhance public-private partnerships for road development.
In response, Tabarot applauded Viet Nam's development achievements and agreed with the Prime Minister on the need to strengthen transport cooperation between the two nations.
During his stay in Viet Nam, Tabarot had a working session with the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and attended a railway seminar./.
