Themed "Building an independent and self-reliant economy in association with extensive economic integration in the new context", the forum drew the participation of Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Education and Communications Nguyen Trong Nghia, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong, representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations.
The notion of building an independent and self-reliant economy has been mentioned by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in his speeches at multiple forums, including his speech at the Harvard University last May.
The forum will explore the content as well policy orientations for building an independent and self-reliant economy.
During the plenary session, the participants are expected to discuss a range of topics such as global economy and major economic cooperation orientations, Viet Nam in global economy – opportunities and challenges, human resource training for digital transformation and development of digital economy and digital society, and risk management.
The first Viet Nam Economic Forum was held in 2017./.
