Forty localities close schools due to COVID-19

VGP – As many as 40 cities and provinces nationwide have closed schools and switched to online learning due to help front liners contain spread of COVID-19.

These localities include An Giang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dien Bien, Dong Nai, Ha Nam, Ha Noi, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hau Giang, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Tay Ninh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Thua Thien-Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Phuc and Yen Bai.

The COVID-19 tally in Viet Nam stood at 3,623 as of 6:05pm on May 12, including 2,180 local infections and 1,443 imported cases.

Of the national caseload, 2,618 patients have recovered and exited hospitals while the death toll remains at 35.

As many as 887,705 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 from March 8 to May 11./.
