Foreign Ministry Spokesperson reveals citizen protection

Regarding the trial of Vietnamese citizen Doan Thi Huong in Malaysia, Spokesperson Hang quoted a report from the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia as saying that the Ms Huong was in good health and stable spirit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will closely work with domestic agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, the Viet Nam Bar Federation, and Malaysian lawyers to protect the rights for Ms. Huong.

In response to other issue of public concern on the worse Gulf crisis, situation of Vietnamese people in the region, and citizen protection policy, Ms. Hang said that right after the tense political crisis, the  Embassy of Viet Nam in Qatar regularly updated the situation and kept a close watch on relevant developments. According to the newest information, Vietnamese citizens were stable without great disorder.

The same day, Spokesperson Hang extended the deepest condolences to the UK government, people and families of the victims of the recent fatal fire.

Spokesman Hang said the fire is a regrettable and heart-rending incident. She said there has been no information about Vietnamese people falling victim to the fire./.
