Benin's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olushegun Adjadi Bakari expressed his impression on the socio-economic development achievements that Viet Nam has achieved over the past time.
Speaking highly of Viet Nam's role and position on the international arena, he emphasized that Benin could learn much from Viet Nam's development experience.
For his part, Bui affirmed that Viet Nam always attaches importance to and wishes to promote traditional friendship and cooperation with Benin.
He stressed that there remains considerable room for bilateral cooperation, so both sides need to step up bilateral economic ties.
The two ministers agreed to facilitate the exchange of delegations, create favorable conditions for the two countries' businesses and investors to share market information, and promote trade investment and cooperation in agriculture, science, telecoms, and electronics.
Besides, they pledged to actively work together to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two foreign ministries, the agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, and many other documents, thus creating a favorable legal framework for bilateral collaboration.
Bui reiterated his invitation to Minister Bakari to visit Viet Nam soon. The Beninese minister accepted the invitation with pleasure and expressed his belief that the visit would bring about new developments in the relationship between the two countries./.
