Hội An Ancient Town is a tourist attraction

During the festival, 300 local pupils, students and enterprises will take part in many performances displaying cultural values of different ethnic groups in Việt Nam and some nations, such as Thailand, China, Japan, Australia and the Netherlands.

Other cultural activities include traditional performing shows, cultural fair, and talkshows with foreign tourists.

The festival is designed to convey the message “Việt Nam wants to be a good friend of all countries” as well as highlight the aspiration for peace and solidarity despite cultural differences.

Since the beginning of the year, Hội An has received about 450,000 visitors (6% up against last year) of whom 320,000 were foreign guests (increasing nearly 7%).

Hội An was recognized by UNESCO as one of the world heritage sites in 1999. Quite a few ancient streets still stand intact for five centuries.

The local authority is making every effort to restore the vestiges and convert the ancient town into a tourism city.
