Deputy Defence Minister Hoang Xuan Chien gives Senior Lieutenant Colonel Truong Anh Tuan the State President’s decision to work at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Ha Noi June 12, 2024.

Truong is the fifth Vietnamese officer to fill a position at the UN headquarters.

He served as liaison officer at the UN Mission in South Sudan from Junly 2015 to July 2016 and studied at the University of Missouri and Military Academy.

From 2014, Viet Nam has deployed more than 800 turns of military and public security officers to the UN peacekeeping missions and UN headquarters./.
