Michel also said he acknowledged the progress that both sides have made in addressing the illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

Prime Minister Pham affirmed that the European Union is a top partner in Viet Nam's foreign policy and urged both sides to step up the exchange of delegations, particularly high-level ones, maintain and promote the effectiveness of the existing cooperation and dialogue mechanisms envisioned in the Viet Nam-EU Cooperation and Partnership Agreement.

He suggested the parliaments of the European member countries to soon ratify the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to facilitate bilateral investment cooperation.

Pham called on the European Commission to soon remove "yellow card" against Vietnamese seafood exports and assist the Southeast Asian country to build a modern and sustainable fisheries industry.

The Government chief also expressed his wish that the EU and its member countries to continue assisting Viet Nam in mobilizing resources for energy transition efforts./.
