According to the Việt Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the delegation will inspect aquaculture areas, fishing vessels, fishing ports, processing factories, semi-processing workshops, cold storage and seafood supply networks.

Currently, 245 seafood processors in Việt Nam are licensed to export their products to the EU. According to Vietnamese Customs, this year, Viet Nam earned US$ 583.2 million from seafood exports to the EU, a 26 percent year-on-year increase. The EU is now the largest market of Việt Nam's seafood, purchasing 24.7 percent of the country's total seafood exports.

The Việt Nam National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Directorate (Nafiqaved) said that Vietnamese seafood producers have strictly implemented plans on monitoring residue levels of antibiotics in seafood destined for the continent. VASEP predicted that Việt Nam's seafood exports would increase sharply this year.
