Ethnic Sports Festival opens in Quảng Nam

VGP - The 7th National Sports Festival for ethnic groups kicked off on July 20 in the central province of Quảng Nam with the participation of 721 athletes from 37 ethnic groups in 17 localities.

Athletes are competing in such sports games as football, volleyball, marathon, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tug of war and walking on stilts.

Provinces that have most athletes participating in the sports event, which was held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, include Đắk Lắk (113), Quảng Nam (129), Gia Lai (86) and Kon Tum (76).

The event was scheduled to last till July 25.
