Right after the opening ceremony of the AMM-50, Minh met with Singaporean FM Vivian Balakrishnan. The two sides expressed their satisfaction at the positive developments in the Viet Nam-Singapore strategic partnership. They were unanimous in measures to realize commitments towards practical benefits and promote trade and investment; and create favourable ways for the two sides to cooperate in such areas as banking, insurance, and software technology.
Singaporean FM voiced support for Viet Nam’s initiatives as the chair of the APEC Summit 2017 and agreed to work with the host for the success of APEC 2017 especially the APEC Economic Leaders' Week this November in Da Nang.
* During a meeting between FM Pham Binh Minh and Indonesian FM Retno Marsudi, both sides agreed to maintain contacts and share exchanges of high-ranking delegations to elevate the bilateral ties to a new height. They agreed to promote cooperation in all fields including politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, security, and national defence.
Minh recommended the two sides work together to protect fishermen and maritime crime, proposing the Indonesian side to handle captured fishermen and fishing vessels in humanitarian spirit.
* Mr. Minh affirmed that Viet Nam supports and works with the Philippines, the chair of ASEAN in 2017 while meeting with Filipino FM Alan Peter Cayetano. Viet Nam hoped to ensure ASEAN’s central role in handling regional issues. He sought the Philippines' support for Vietnamese citizens who were captured by terrorist groups.
* During a meeting with Lao FM Saleumxay Kommasith, the two sides expressed their delight at the developments in the Viet Nam-Laos comprehensive ties, celebrations of the Year on Viet Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017.
*The same day, Minh met with Australian FM Julie Bishop. The two sides were satisfied at the progresses in the comprehensive and robust development in the Viet Nam-Australia comprehensive partnership./.
