Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) signed a free trade agreement in Kazakhstan on May 29, 2015, opening up a new chapter in the partnership between Viet Nam nad the Union formed by five member countries, namely Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
Trade between Viet Nam and the EAEA countries has surged since the trade deal came into effect in October 5, 2016, according to the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Specifically, Viet Nam's trade with Armenia grew by 61 percent, with Belarus by 34 percent, with Kazakhstan by 4.2 times, with Kyrgyzstan by 14.5 times, and with Russia by 1.3 times./.
