Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang holds talks with Israeli Prime Minister

VGP - Viet Nam and Israel should consider science-technology and high-tech agriculture as priorities for their cooperation, suggested Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.

Tran made the suggestion at his talks with Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, on July 25, within the framework of his official visit to Israel. 

Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the visit of the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, which took place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties. 

He expressed his delight on Viet Nam's socio-economic development outcomes, affirming that Viet Nam is a crucial partner of Israel. 

Both sides have ample room for further cooperation across all sectors, including science-technology, start-up, high-tech agriculture, water treatment and health, he noted. 

Tran, for his side, reiterated that Viet Nam always attaches importance to the friendship relations and multi-faceted cooperation with Israel. 

Viet Nam encourages and facilitates Israeli businesses to pour more investment in the country and share experiences in fields of start-up, innovation, information and technology, stated Tran.

He called on Israel to receive more Vietnamese trainees and speed up negotiations and signing of an agreement on labor cooperation. 

Both leaders pledged to strengthen friendship and cooperation ties via all-level delegation exchanges and enhance mutual support at international forums and organizations. 

They vowed to organize trade promotion activities, and consider to soon open a new direct air route to boost economic cooperation, tourism and people-to-people links.

They pledged to take full advantages of Viet Nam-Israel Free Trade Agreement which was signed before the talks.

They expressed their belief that the agreement will upgrade the economic ties, particularly the bilateral trade and investment ties to a higher level to be commensurate with the two countries' potential and wishes of their leaders and people./.
