The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister made the suggestion during his meeting with Egyptian Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek and First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Ahmed Saad El-Din Mohamed Abd El-Rehim in Cairo, Egypt, on July 26 on the occasion of his three-day official visit to Egypt.
Tran reiterated that Viet Nam attaches importance to and expects to strengthen the multi-faceted relations with Egypt.
He expressed his hope that the Parliament of Egypt would continue to advocate and strengthen the bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam in prioritized fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, investment and cooperation as well as effectively implement signed agreements.
The two top Egyptian legislators spoke highly of the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister's visit, saying it would help consolidate the bilateral relationship.
Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek hailed Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements as well as active developments in Viet Nam-Egypt relations over the last 60 years.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives stated that the Egyptian State and Parliament treasure and hope to foster the traditional friendship ties with Viet Nam.
Both sides pledged to take measures to deepen the traditional relations between the two nations in the upcoming time, including enhancing all-level delegation exchanges and people-to-people exchanges and promoting effective cooperation between the two legislative bodies.
They vowed to open the market for each side's advantageous items, make it easier for their enterprises to bolster collaboration and soon organize the Viet Nam-Egypt Intergovernmental Committee's sixth meeting.
The same day, the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister had a working session with Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Tran highly appraised the crucial role of the Arab League in maintaining peace and stability and endorsing political, economic and cultural cooperation.
Viet Nam wishes to take part in efforts of the Arab League and its member countries to achieve peace, security, stability and sustainable development in the region and the world, he said.
He recommended both sides accelerate close coordination, consultancy and mutual support at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and ASEAN.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, for his part, committed to making efforts in boosting effective collaboration between the Arab League and its member countries with Viet Nam in the upcoming time.
