At these meetings, Pham reiterated that Viet Nam regards Japan as an important and reliable strategic partner, expecting that both nations will continue effective implementation of the agreements and perceptions reached by the two Prime Ministers, creating solid foundation for the advancement of the bilateral ties in the time to come.
He suggested the two sides continue the exchange of high-level delegations, expressing his hope that Japanese leaders will encourage more enterprises to expand investment and diversify supply chains in Viet Nam.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the Japanese side to accelerate local-to-local cooperation, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges with Viet Nam and to coordinate with Viet Nam organize activities marking the 50th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan relations in 2023.
The host leaders asserted that Japan attaches importance to the relationship with Viet Nam and spoke highly of the status and role of Viet Nam in the region and the world.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councillors affirmed their resolve to foster exchanges between the two nations' parliaments, and to strengthen coordination at the regional and international parliamentary forums.
They vowed to advocate the Japanese Government to beef up comprehensive and extensive cooperation with Viet Nam.
On the occasion, both sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concerns, consenting to strengthen close coordination at the international and regional forums such as the UN, ASEAN and Mekong as well as join hands in effectively implementing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
