Da Lat flower festival opens

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the opening ceremony with 15,000 tourists and local people in Lam Dong province. 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee said that biannual event was held with a view to welcoming domestic and foreign guests to visit and experience the festival. 

The cultural, economic, and tourism event is of great significance, aiming to honor flower growers and advertise local famous agricultural products. 

On behalf of the Party and State, National Assembly Chairman Ngan acknowledged the great effort, determination, and important achievements that the localities have attained over the past time. 

Ms Ngan stressed that the Da Lat Flower Festival has become an outstanding cultural, economic, and tourism event, significantly promoting local business and export of flowers and agricultural products. 

The top legislator congratulated Da Lat city and Lam Dam province for brand name recognition of “Da Lat - Miracle crystallization from good land.” The recognition represents honor and responsibility, confidential commitment of domestic and foreign customers on agricultural and tourism brand name of Da Lat-Lam Dong in the coming time. 

A new feature of the festival is that the Lam Dong Tea Week will become a part of the Da Lat Flower Festival after previously being held separately.

The five-day festival featured a fashion week of silk and “ao dai” (traditional Vietnamese gown) and art performances.

A series of workshops will be held within the event to promote investment in Lam Dong, to discuss Da Lat’s development planning, and to develop local tea and silk./.
