Viet Nam and former Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic, established diplomatic relations on February 2, 1950. Since then, bilateral friendship and cooperation have been strengthened.
Data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that Viet Nam's exports to the Czech Republic reached more than US$668 million in 2022, up 14.58 percent compared to 2021, while her imports from the Czech Republic totaled US$160 million, up 5.2 percent.
As of the end of May 2022, the Czech Republic had 41 valid direct investment projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$92.39 million, ranking 49th out of 139 countries and territories with direct investment in the Southeast Asian country./.
