The Ministry’s Investigation Agency has seized documents proving Vũ’s illegal activities, said Head of the Agency Lieut. Gen. Hoàng Kông Tư at a press briefing yesterday.

He said that Vũ has made a number of documents containing distorted and defamatory information against the State, calling for the regime toppling, multi-party, and external intervention.

Vũ has relations with overseas and domestic hostile forces against Việt Nam, conducted at least 20 interviews to reactionary radios and newspapers, compiled and sent abroad his own anti-State documents, the agency stated.

Vũ also spread baseless, fabricated, and distorted information on the State and Government’s leadership to incite the public to oppose the State.

The arrest of Vũ and search of his home were conducted in accordance with the law. Further investigation into Vũ’s wrongdoings are underway.

Cù Huy Hà Vũ was born in 1957 in the central province of Hà Tĩnh and is a permanent resident at No. 24, Điện Biên Phủ Street, Hà Nội.

In 2009, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to dismiss him for repeated infringement of working regulations. Earlier in 1986, he was prosecuted for injuring people.
