The first international intermodal container train from Qinghai Province, China, clears customs at Yen Vien Station, Ha Noi, June 3, 2026

The new route spans nearly 4,000 kilometers, including more than 2,178 kilometers across China and over 1,700 kilometers through Viet Nam.

The journey from Qinghai to Trang Bom in the southern province of Dong Nai takes just over 10 days, marking the first time that the Chinese locality has launched a container rail service to Dong Nai.

The new service enables goods from inland Chinese localities such as Qinghai, Nanning, and Suzhou to be transported directly to Viet Nam's major production and consumption centers.

The new rail service also contributes to the development of a cross-border transport corridor within the China–ASEAN region, facilitating the movement of goods.

In addition to helping Viet Nam's key export products, including agricultural products, seafood, and textiles and garments access to the Chinese market, the route is expected to strengthen regional logistics connectivity and expand links with international transport networks./.
