CPVCC opens 4th plenary meeting

VGP – Socio-economic development plan for 2017 and growth model transformation are on agenda as the 12th Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee (CPVCC) begins its 4th plenary meeting in Ha Noi on October 9.

Other major topics include the socio-economic performance in 2016, international integration process following the country’s signing of new-generation free trade agreements, and Party building work.

The Government has convened a meeting recently to finalize a report on the socio-economic performance in 2016 to submit to the CPVCC and the National Assembly’s second working session scheduled to open this month. Thorough analysis of this year’s socio-economic situation will provide foundations for identifying key goals and solutions of the next year’s socio-economic development plan.

According to the General Statistics Office, the economy continued growth trajectory, expanding 5.93% in the first nine months this year.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged inferior levels to take specific measures in the fourth quarter to achieve the full-year expansion of 6.3-6.5% as the last quarter “contains many good conditions, allowing to boost the GDP.”
