COVID-19 update: Testing capacity, infection cases, treatment

VGP – As of Sunday, Viet Nam has 110 laboratories capable of diagnosing the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also said Viet Nam is one of the leading countries in the world with the highest proportion of COVID-19 tests in relation to positive cases.

The nation’s daily testing capacity reaches 27,000 samples and the total tested samples rose to 212,800 as of Sunday morning, the ministry added.

So far, the Southeast Asian country confirmed 258 infection cases, of whom 144 have been cleared of the virus and released from hospitals. The current active cases include 7 in serious conditions.

COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam by gender

As many as 1,198 people have been quarantined at medical facilities, 17,519 have been sent to centralized quarantine camps and 53,791 others have been medically monitored at places of residence.

Women account for 54.65% of the infection tally, or 141 cases.

Ha Noi has the most COVID-19 patients with 108, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with 55, Vinh Phuc (19), Ninh Binh (13), and Binh Thuan (09)./.
