The project, covering an area of 172.6 hectares, is planned to be developed into a modern container port and an international transshipment hub for the Central region. Its design capacity is approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year (equivalent to about 74 million tons of cargo), with projected throughput by 2030 ranging from 14.25 to 36.3 million tons annually.

The port area is designed to have eight container berths with a total quay length of about 2,750 meters, capable of accommodating container vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs. Modern technologies and automation will be applied to improve operational efficiency.

The project will be carried out in three phases during 2026–2036, with a total investment of over VND 50 trillion (more than US$2 billion), and an operational period of 50 years.

Tran Van Ky, Chairman of the Board of Hateco Group, the investor of Lien Chieu Container Port project, stated that the project will be carried out in a systematic, synchronized, and modern manner, strictly complying with environmental, safety, and sustainable development standards in line with international practices, with a view to building a smart and green container seaport capable of deep integration into the global supply chain.

Lien Chieu Container Port is expected to become a project of strategic significance, contributing to the socio-economic development of Da Nang City, the Central region, and the nation's economy./.
