Prime Minister Pham warmly welcomed Savoeun to Viet Nam, emphasizing Dien Bien Phu victory is the common triumph of three countries of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Pham affirmed Viet Nam always treasures the valuable assistance of generations of Lao and Cambodian leaders and people for Viet Nam's revolutionary cause.
He also affirmed Viet Nam always gives high priority to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia based on solidarity, friendship and mutual respect for each other's interests.
Viet Nam wishes to collaborate closely with Cambodia and other Mekong countries to ensure sustainable use, management, protection and development of the Mekong river basin on the basis of Mekong agreement signed in 1995 and regulations of the Mekong River Commission for the benefits of people living along the river basin.
Pham expected that the Cambodian side would continue creating favorable conditions for Cambodian people of Vietnamese origin to stabilize their life and integrate into the host society, for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the neighboring country.
Deputy Prime Minister Savoeun underlined the significance of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory for Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia, affirming his country attaches importance to fostering cooperation with Viet Nam.
Both sides agreed to continue the exchange of high-level delegations and contacts, coordinate closely in implementing signed agreements, and step up economic cooperation and connectivity especially along the shared borderline.
The two sides reaffirmed that the two countries will remains steadfast to not allow hostile forces to use one's territory against the other; redouble efforts in completing the remaining 16 percent of land border demarcation and marker planting./.
