British national among seven new cases of COVID-19

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed seven new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, taking the patient tally to 1,504.

The latest patients include one British national and six Vietnamese repatriated from the U.S., Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, and Japan.

Specifically, patient 1498 is a 21-year-old man in Ha Khanh Ward, Ha Long city of the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Patient 1499 is a 62-year-old woman in Ward 5, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City.

Both of them were brought home from the U.S. on December 21.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1500 is a 36-year-old British man who flew from the United Arab Emirates to Ho Chi Minh City on January 2.

He is being treated at the HCMC Cu Chi field Hospital.

Patient 1501 is a 21-year-old man in Thanh Binh Commune, Trang Bom District of the southern province of Dong Nai.

He took flight VJ2527 from the Philippines to the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on December 21 and was quarantined in Ben Tre Province.

The patient is being treated at the medical center in Ben Tre’s Giong Trom District.

Patient 1502 is a 21-year-old man in Thieu Khanh Ward, Thanh Hoa city of Thanh Hoa Province.

Patient 1503 is a 26-year-old man in Thanh Nhut Commune, Go Cong Tay District of the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang.

Patient 1504 is a 29-year-old woman in Nam Ha Commune, Tien Hai District of the northern province of Thai Binh.

They flew from Japan to the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on December 29 and were quarantined in the nearby province of Hai Duong.

The patients are being treated at the Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Of the country’s patient tally, 1,339 have been cleared of the virus while 35 others have been reported dead.
