The Government chief welcomed the results of the working session between agriculture ministries of Viet Nam and Brazil, which was held on  the occasion of her Viet Nam visit.

Phuc spoke highly of the rising role and status of Brazil in the world, affirming the Southeast Asian country attaches importance to the comprehensive partnership with Brazil – the second biggest trade partner of Viet Nam in Latin America.

He took the occasion to extend thanks to Brazil for having supported Viet Nam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021 tenure.

Expressing her delight on the visit to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 30th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties, Tereza Cristina confirmed that Brazil also expects to strengthen the multifaceted relations with Viet Nam.

Brazil commits to quickening efforts in importing Vietnamese shrimps in a bid to balance the bilateral trade turnover, she said, adding that Viet Nam is the gateway for Brazil’s agricultural products to penetrate into ASEAN.

As Brazil has taken over the Presidency of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), the country pledges to strengthen cooperation between Viet Nam and Mercosur members, she said.
