Brazil invites Viet Nam to G20 Summit
VGP – Brazilian President Lula da Silva has invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the G20 Summit scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro in November this year.

Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, who is on an official visit to Viet Nam, handed over President Silva's invitation letter to the Vietnamese Prime Minister in Ha Noi on April 10.
Viet Nam attended a G20 Summit for the first time in 2010 as Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN).
At the G20 presidency, Brazil proposes agendas from the Global South for the meeting of the world's largest economies: combating hunger, poverty and inequality; sustainable development and reform of global governance.
For the first time as the leader of the group that includes the world's 19 largest economies, as well as the African Union and the European Union, Brazil will organize more than 100 working group meetings, both virtually and in person, during its one-year term, as well as around 20 ministerial meetings. The Summit, to be held on November 18-19, 2024, will be the culmination of this extensive work.
President Lula unveiled the three main axes of Brazil's G20 presidency during the 18th Summit of Heads of Government and State in September in New Delhi, India: the fight against hunger, poverty, and inequality; the three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social, and environmental); and the reform of global governance./.
