The festival will last for nine days from February 8 to 16 at the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) at No. 5 Pham Van Bach street, Cau Giay district, Ha Noi.
Donors can register online to donate as a pair. Two people who donate together will receive a certificate and special gifts from the organizers.
During the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday (January 25 – February 2), the NIHBT recorded 2,019 blood and platelet donors, with the number of donors continuing to rise after the Tet.
Organized annually for 17 years, the blood donation event drew hundreds of thousands of blood donors, receiving over 110,000 blood units in Ha Noi alone. This activity has contributed to changing the public perception on voluntary blood donation, a honorable deed to usher in the New Year.
Viet Nam targets to collect 1.85 million units of blood nationwide in 2025, with 99 percent expected from voluntary donors.
Last year, over 7,400 blood donation events were organized with the participation of more than 1.8 million donors./.
