The project, financed through an Official Development Assistance (ODA) worth nearly €5 million, will be launched within three years from 2015-2018.

The long-term goal of the project is to protect and use sustainably bio-diversity at central level and forest eco-system service in Viet Nam, contributing to realizing the Green Growth Strategy.

The project is also aimed at strengthening capacity for State management agencies, private sector and social organizations on sustainable forest development and management as well as transferring experience related to bio-diversity.

It is expected to complete the document system on bio-diversity preservation and exploitation, reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and enhance forest law enforcement, governance and trade.
