Binh Duong takes lead in monthly per capita income

VGP – The southern province of Binh Duong led other localities nationwide in the monthly per capita income with VND7.019 million (more than US$300), according to the General Statistics Office.

Ho Chi Minh City, the biggest economic hub in Viet Nam,  and the capital city of Ha Noi came second and third with VND6.537 million (around US$280) and VND5.981 million (US$260), respectively. 

It was followed by Dong Nai Province, Bac Ninh Province, Da Nang City, Hai Phong City, Can Tho City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and Quang Ninh Province, recording the monthly per capita income more than VND4.5 million (more than US$200). 

Viet Nam’s monthly per capita income in 2020 was estimated at VND4.23 million (US$180), down 2 percent against 2019. 

During 2016-2020, the monthly per capita income witnessed average growth of 8.1 percent. 

The Southeast region ranked first among regions in Viet Nam in terms of monthly per capita income with VND6.023 million (US$260), 2.2 times higher than the Northern midland and mountainous area VND2.745 million (or US$120).
