Prévot spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements and its increasingly prominent role in the region and on the international arena.
He expressed Belgium's desire to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation with Viet Nam, particularly in areas where Belgium has strengths, such as seaports, logistics, high technology and sustainable development.
Le, for his part, spoke highly of the positive development of Viet Nam-Belgium relations over more than 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, particularly following the state visit to Viet Nam by the Belgian King and Queen in April 2025.
Viet Nam consistently places importance on its friendship and cooperation with Belgium, an important partner in Europe, noted the diplomat.
He welcomed the Belgian Federal Parliament's adoption of a resolution in October 2023 calling for support for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange.
Le proposed that the two foreign ministries strengthen their roles as coordinating agencies and work together to further advance the bilateral relations, translating the outcomes and cooperation orientations agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders into concrete results.
He also called for fostering stronger ties in defense and security cooperation, political trust, and effective implementation of the bilateral agreements.
Le proposed both sides prioritize economic, trade and investment cooperation, particularly seaports and logistics.
He emphasized the need to make science and technology and innovation a new pillar of the bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of semiconductors, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and high-tech agriculture.
The guest also called for boosting collaboration in education and training, culture, tourism and healthcare, alongside stronger connections between Vietnamese localities and Belgium's regions and communities.
Both sides underscored the importance of upholding multilateralism, respecting international law, and strengthening dialogue and cooperation to peacefully resolve disputes.
They vowed to enhance coordination and mutual support at the United Nations and other multilateral forums, as well as promoting Viet Nam-EU, Belgium- ASEAN, and ASEAN-EU relations, thereby contributing to the maintenance of peace and stability and the promotion of sustainable development. /.
