Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Mạnh, Director of the provincial Department of Construction said the new center will have been completed by the end of March.

The move aims to turn Vũng Tàu into a tourism city and make Bà Rịa town as the engine for the development of contiguous districts.

Under the Decision 15/2007/QĐ-TTg dated on January 29, 2007, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ratified Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu’s socio-economic development planning scheme for the 2006-2015 period with orientations to 2020, under which, Bà Rịa Town was chosen as the province’s new administrative center and biggest trade hub.

Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu set the target to develop Bà Rịa Town into the 2nd grade city by 2015.
