Nitin also spoke highly of the Government’s socio-economic recovery policy and decision to reopen the economy.

Nitin applauded the Vietnamese Government's effective and drastic efforts in vaccine diplomacy and the pandemic prevention work as well as its supporting measures, particularly a support package of VND350 trillion (US$15.43 billion) for socio-economic recovery and development.

AstraZeneca is accelerating technology transfer of a brand name drug production project worth US$90 million in Viet Nam and selecting partners for technology transfer of COVID-19 vaccine production for the country.

The Chairman and General Director of AstraZeneca Viet Nam said that the company is considering reduction of the price of vaccine for Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, PM Pham highly valued the role and contribution of AstraZeneca in the COVID-19 fight in both the global scale and in Viet Nam.

He welcomed the company's effective and close coordination with Viet Nam's relevant agencies to fulfill its commitments to providing 30 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine for the Southeast Asian country in 2021, contributing to Viet Nam's successful realization of its vaccination campaign and flexible and safe adaption to the pandemic.

Pham suggested the company continue launching projects as committed, providing vaccines and new-generation COVID-19 treatment drug for the country and sharing international experiences in vaccinating against COVID-19 for children aged 5-12.

The Vietnamese Government will create a favorable environment for the company to carry out pharmacy research, production and technology transfer in Viet Nam, PM Pham said.
