The event aims to foster exchange and integration, contributing to enhancing solidarity, mutual understanding and trust among ASEAN militaries.
In his speech, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty said ACAMM-15 is an important cooperation mechanism for coping with security threats, especially those relating to non-traditional security while calling for solutions to strengthen co-ordination among ASEAN countries to deal with them.
At the five-day event, participants will discuss measures to promote cooperation among the army members to deal with security challenges with a view of contributing to maintaining the region’s peace and spurring its development as part of the efforts to build an ASEAN community by 2015
ACAMM-15 is a good chance to boost the friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the People’s Army of Viet Nam and the armies of the ASEAN states. It also demonstrates Viet Nam’s proactive and responsible role in regional common issues.
The event is held by the Viet Nam People’s Army for the first time.
