These factors are hard-working workforce, political stability, and growing economy with roadmaps designed towards 2035 and 2040, said Indra Pradana Singawinata in his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ha Noi on April 26.

Prime Minister Pham welcomed the Secretary General for choosing Viet Nam as the first destination to visit right after receiving the assignment.

He appreciated the role of APO in the development of regional productivity in general and Viet Nam in particular.

The Prime Minister took the occasion to ask the APO and the Secretary-General to assist Viet Nam in building and perfecting the institution; training human resources; focusing on innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, digital economy, circular economy, and climate change response; and strengthening coordination among all levels and international cooperation in these fields.

In reply, Singawinata said that Viet Nam has a foundation to increase productivity, with hardworking and committed people who are striving to achieve the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045. The Southeast Asian nation is a leading stable country in terms of politics, economics and society.

The guest leader applauded the host leader’s proposals and pledged to back Viet Nam to improve its institutional building capacity, develop plans and monitor the implementation process, and pool the involvement of departments and agencies in labor productivity improvement./.
