Agro-forestry-fishery export turnover fetches US$46.28 billion in nine months

VGP - Viet Nam pocketed US$46.28 billion from exporting agricultural, forestry and fishery products, a year-on-year increase of 21 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Viet Nam targets to earn US$57-58 billion of agro-forestry-fishery export turnover in 2024

In the reviewed period, import turnover grew by 7.5 percent year-on-year to US$32.42 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of US$13.86 billion.

Specifically, the export revenue of agricultural products stood at US$24.85 billion, up 27.7 percent while that of forestry products reached US$12.46 billion, up 20.3 percent. 

All key products reported surges, including timber and wood products (US$11.66 billion, up 21.3 percent), fruit and vegetables (US$5.87 billion, 39.4 percent), coffee (US$4.37 billion, up 39.6 per ent), rice (US$4.37 billion, up 23.5 percent), cashew nuts (US$3.17 billion, up 22.5 percent), and shrimp (US$2.79 billion, up 10.5 percent).

The U.S. was the biggest importer by occupying 21.6 percent, followed by China with 20.8 percent and Japan with 6.6 percent.

Earlier, the MARD raised the target of agro-forestry-fishery export revenue to US$57-58 billion for 2024./.
