Agreement on science, technology, innovation cooperation with Thailand approved

The Vietnamese and Thai PMs witness the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Governments of Viet Nam and Thailand on science, technology and innovation cooperation, 2017

The Ministry of Science and Technology is tasked to host and coordinate with other relevant Vietnamese and Thai agencies to implement the agreement. 

In 2017, the two nations inked the agreement on science, technology and innovation cooperation, which has created a legal framework to carry out cooperative science and technology projects between the two sides. 

The agreement focuses on such areas as biotechnology, electronic and computer technology, materials science and nanotechnology, food-water and energy security, agricultural science, environmental science, support for start-up and innovation businesses, cooperation and development of technologies in line with the trend of the fourth industrial revolution. 

The deal also expands and promotes relations between the two countries’ science and technology organizations on the basis of fairness and mutual interests as well as contributes to strengthening Viet Nam-Thailand Strategic Partnership.
