Le hailed the practical progress in bilateral relations since the two countries upgraded their ties into a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023.
The two sides have strengthened contacts and exchanges of delegations at all levels, maintained regular dialogue on reciprocal tax issues, fostered stronger ties in economics, trade, and investment, as well as security, defense relations and war legacy remediation, he stressed.
The Vietnamese diplomat highlighted the importance of the close coordination between the U.S. Embassy in Ha Noi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Knapper's role in deepening Viet Nam–U.S. relations to deliver tangible benefits for their peoples.
He called on the two sides to work together to effectively implement the agreements reached by their senior leaders.
Knapper, for his part, expressed his delight at the strong momentum in the bilateral relations as the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year.
The Ambassador highly values the outcomes of exchanges between General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump, expressing thanks to the Vietnamese Government and relevant ministries for their efforts in promoting bilateral ties, fully implementing international trade agreements, and creating a favorable environment for American businesses to invest in the country.
He affirmed that the U.S. will continue to accompany Viet Nam in achieving its strategic growth, particularly in the field of high technology and science, while further strengthening collaboration in key areas such as war legacy remediation, education, health, and the fight against transnational crime./.
