The number of pupils taking exams dropped by 8.5% against last year.
Full-time pupils will take exams on six subjects, including literature, chemistry, geography, history, mathematics and foreign language.
They can choose English, Russian, French, Chinese, German and Japanese for foreign-language subjects.
Other examinees who attend high school part-time or in the evening will take a physics exam instead of a foreign language exam.
The MoET has asked localities to carefully check preparations for the coming examinations./.
