5,383 COVID-19 cases added to national tally

VGP – The Ministry of Heath confirmed 5,383 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, raising the national patient tally to 813,961.

The latest patients consist of one imported cases and 5,382 domestic infections in 37 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (2,490), Binh Duong (1,210), Dong Nai (701), An Giang (222), Soc Trang (118), Long An (90), Kien Giang (69), Khanh Hoa (53), Tien Giang (52), Binh Thuan (48), Ca Mau (36), Ha Nam (36), Dong Thap (33), Can Tho (27), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (25), Tay Ninh (20), Quang Binh (18), Quang Ngai (17), Binh Dinh (14), Ninh Thuan (12), Ben Tre (12), Tra Vinh (10), Nghe An (10), Quang Tri (9), Bac Lieu (9), Ha Noi (8 ), Dak Nong (8 ), Vinh Long (7), Phu Yen (5), Nam Dinh (3), Thanh Hoa (2), Bac Ninh (2), Phu Tho (2), Bac Giang (1), Da Nang (1), Hai Duong (1), and Gia Lai (1).

The national caseload includes 809,375 locally transmitted cases recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.

The same day, the ministry reported 27,683 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 721,480. Among the current patients, 6,144 are in critical heatlh condition.

It also announced further 130 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (93), Binh Duong (20), Long An (5), Dong Nai (5), An Giang (3), Ca Mau (1), Vinh Long (1), Da Nang (1), and Tien Giang (1), bringing the death toll to 19,845 or 2.4 percent of the national tally.

The nation has administered 45,496,123 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 10,873,929 people having been fully vaccinated./.
