3,619 new COVID-19 cases added to national tally

VGP – There were 3,619 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The latest patients consist of two imported cases and 3,617 domestic infections documented in 44 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (1,527), Dong Nai (499), Binh Duong (446), An Giang (142), Dak Lak (119), Kien Giang (91), Long An (76), Tien Giang (67), Tay Ninh (55), Dong Thap (55), Ca Mau (51), Tra Vinh (48), Can Tho (47), Binh Thuan (45), Ben Tre (40), Quang Ngai (38), Hau Giang (32), Nghe An (27), Lam Dong (26), Khanh Hoa (26), Ha Nam (21), Binh Dinh (21), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (16), Bac Lieu (14), Gia Lai (13), Vinh Long (12), Kon Tum (10), Dak Nong (9), Ninh Thuan (9), Binh Phuoc (6), Quang Binh (5), Bac Ninh (4), Ha Tinh (4), Son La (3), Hai Duong (2), Thanh Hoa (2), Quang Tri (2), Ninh Binh (1), Nam Dinh (1), Phu Yen (1), Vinh Phuc (1), Bac Giang (1), Lang Son (1), and Ha Noi (1).  

These new cases bring the national caseload to 843,281, of which 838,653 have been recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave hit Viet Nam.

The same day, the ministry reported 2,549 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 784,748, representing over 93 percent of the national patient tally.

The ministry also announced further 115 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (75), Binh Duong (18), Dong Nai (5), An Giang (5), Tien Giang (4), Ninh Thuan (2), Long An (2), Quang Binh (1), Binh Dinh (1), Can Tho (1), and Tay Ninh (1), sending the death toll to 20,670, accounting for 2.4 percent of the total cases.

To date, the nation has administered 54,279,564 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 15,581,428 people having been fully vaccinated./.
