150 Japanese entrepreneurs fly to Viet Nam
VGP – A flight carrying 150 Japanese business people landed in Van Don International Airport on June 25, marking an initial step in easing the travel restrictions imposed by Viet Nam and Japan due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
This is the first of several chartered flights that are scheduled from Thursday through Saturday to bring about 440 business people to Viet Nam.
All of the passengers were seen to wear protective suits and required to comply with the current COVID-19 containment measures, including mandatory health declaration.
According to Japanese Foreign Minster Toshimitsu Motegi, Viet Nam and Japan had agreed to ease travel restrictions “partially and gradually”, and it “won’t take long” before travel between the two countries resumes.
The Van Don airport, located in the northern province of Quang Ninh, handled 31 incoming/outcoming flights with about 5,000 experts from the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Chinese Taipei and others since early February.
The aiport has also welcomed 37 repatriation flights to bring home more than 6,100 citizens stranded abroad due to the COVID-19./.
