Viettel restructuring plan passed

VGP – The military-run Viettel group will become a dynamic and competitive military economic unit to contribute to spurring the country’s socio-economic growth, security and international integration.

May 21, 2013 3:27 PM GMT+7

This is the core goal of the Viettel restructuring plan passed by the PM.

The group will have a total charter capital of VND100 trillion (US$81 billion) and operate in the telecom, informatics and technology, radio and television broadcast, and post and forwarding sectors.

In 2013-2015, the group will consist of 11 units such as Viettel Telecom, Viettel Network, and Viettel Television and Viettel branches in the country’s 63 cities and provinces.

Under the restructuring plan, EVN Telecom will be officially merged into Viettel Group.

The PM required Viettel to restructure its administrative management, better its system, boost workforce training, and speed up scientific and technological applications./.
