Viet Nam among six countries with highest vaccination rates

Gov’t proposes US$15 billion economic recovery program

To date, 99.6 percent of population aged 18 and older has received the first dose and 90.9 percent has taken the second dose.

Meanwihle, 85.6 percent of children aged between 12 and 17 has received the first jab and 57 percent has taken the second jab.

The Government is purchasing vaccines for children aged 5-11.

Thanks to high vaccination rate, the Government adopted Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP on safe and flexible adaptation to the COVID-19, paving the way for the country to reboot economic recovery since October 11.

The economy contracted 6.02 percent in the third quarter before expanding 5.22 percent in the last quarter, helping Viet Nam to achieve the growth rate of 2.58 percent in 2021.

Total trade volume with the rest of the world increased by 22.6 percent on year to reach a record high of US$668.5 billion, making Viet Nam one of the world’s 20 main trading nations.

Of the above figure, the total export value was estimated at US$336.25 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19 percent.

Foreign investment inflows rose 9.2 percent to US$31.15 billion, in which the processing and manufacturing sector attracted over US$18 billion./.
