Two more COVID-19 cases confirmed, patient tally reaches 355

VGP - Two more Vietnamese returning from Kuwait have been confirmed the latest COVID-19 cases in Viet Nam, raising the patient tally to 355, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported minutes ago.

They are assigned numbers 354 and 355.

Patient 354 is a 48-year old woman from Ho Chi Minh City's Binh Chanh District while patient 355 is a 43-year old woman from Thanh Hoa Province's Nhu Xuan District.

The pair landed in Viet Nam on June 18 and were immediately sent to a centralized quarantine camp in the norther province of Hung Yen.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District.

As of 6:10 pm on Saturday, Viet Nam has gone 72 days without a community transmission of COVID-19, the National Steering Committee said.

Of the patient tally, 330 have been cleared of the virus, making up 93%, the Committee added.

At present, 7,846 people, who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or come from the pandemic-stricken areas, are under medical surveillance, including 67 at hospitals, 5,563 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 2,216 at places of residence./.
