Toshiba is to build a factory in VN

VGP - Japan’s Toshiba Corporation was licensed last week to build a high-efficiency motor factory in the Amata industrial park, Đồng Nai Province.

As planned, Toshiba Industrial Products Asia Co Ltd will build the facility on an area of 8 ha in the Amata Industrial Park to produce high-efficiency motors and accessories.

The construction of the US $77-million factory is due for April next year.

The factory is scheduled to made debut in September 2010, recruiting 500 workers.

When operating with its full capacity by 2015, the factory is able to churn out 1.2 million under-100-horsepower motors and main components per annum.

At the initial stage, the products will be exported to North America, China, Southeast Asia and Japan.
