VN’s economic-financial conference held in Japan

VGP – Over 100 representatives of Japanese institutes and firms attended a seminar introducing Việt Nam’s investment environment and financial systems on November 25 in Tokyo.

Addressing the seminar, Envoy of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Mr. Nguyễn Minh Hà, stressed that, Việt Nam is a promising market of 87 million consumers and improved environment climate. He also hailed the strong development of bilateral ties between Việt Nam and Japan, especially in investment and ODA.

Vietnamese scholars highlighted the current situation of Việt Nam’s economy, finance and banking systems amid the global financial crisis, its future policies on infrastructure upgrading, and human resources training, as well as opportunities for Japanese investors.

Meanwhile, Japanese scholars and investors expressed their deep interests in Việt Nam’s financial and monetary polices, investment environment, and stock market.

In his speech, Mr. Mitsuo Kubo, Chief Executive Officer of Japanese consultation company Mirai, highlighted characteristics of Việt Nam’s financial and banking systems, its laws on equitization of state-owned enterprises, the development of its stock market, and opportunities and challenges faced by foreign investors in the Vietnamese market.

The seminar was held by Japan’s Việt Nam Economic Research Institute in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy, Việt Nam’s Research Institute for Economics and Business Management, and Mirai.
