5.5mln tons of rice exported

VGP – Việt Nam has exported some 5.536 million tons of rice so far this year, according to the country’s Food Association.

Of the figure, the country shipped 218,896 tons of rice in the first half of Setember, earning over US $113 million.

Currently, rice prices in the Mekong Delta vary from VND 6,550 – 6,750 per a kilo.

Việt Nam expects to ship some 7 million tons of rice this year for US $3.5 billion.
