A large number of experts said COVID-19 vaccines remain effective in mitigating the rates of hospitalization, fatality, and critical illness as they represent the most important shield to contain the disease.

As of April 21, over 211 million doses of vaccines had been administered in Viet Nam including more than 193 million for adults, over 17 million for children in the 12-17 age group, and 232,567 for children from 5-11 years old  (first dose).

Thirty-six out of 63 provinces and cities have engaged in the vaccination rollout for children from 5-11 years old. Zero serious side effects have been reported among the group of ages.
